2018 Fund a Need
Technology, Part 2: Instructional Technology At the 2017 Spring Gala Dinner and Auction, the attendees (many of you are in the room again tonight) generously donated to the Fund-a-need which supported updating our student laptops. Due to the success of that night, ICOLPH was able to replace all 35 computers in the lab, as well as the 60 computers students use in the 5-8th grade classrooms! While our teachers do a phenomenal job with what they have, an upgrade to the technology used in the classroom is desperately needed. The document cameras and projectors are used daily in instruction. They are old and are starting to give out, and are expensive to replace. The printers in the classrooms are getting finicky in their old age. But finicky happens to all of us! We also need a new server. It distributes information, or so I am told by others wiser than I in technology. We are blessed that Larry Buenbrazo (IT Volunteer extraordinaire) is able to build this for us; however, it will require parts, licensing and funding to do so. Our goal tonight is to fund new projectors and document cameras for each classroom, replace aging printers and buy the hardware and software needed for the new server. Any additional funds would be used to begin to replace the laptops for the 2-4th grade classroom use and/or updating classroom Smart Boards. Your generosity tonight will again directly impact every single student at ICOLPH! We are educating our students to be successful in a world relying on technology in every format. We need to ensure that our teachers and students have reliable technology to accomplish this.
Thank you so much for your support!
